Design Process

The Paper & Ink mobile app is designed for college students to easily purchase stationery needed for academic learning. The minimalist app design interface ensures a practical and smooth user experience.
01. Key Insights
Here are a few key insights I discovered based on three semi-structured interviews:

• Subscription box services are convenient because of renewal purchasing
• The most used types of stationery are notebooks and sticky notes
• Amazon.com is used to purchase stationery because of its convenience
02. User Flow Map
I created a user flow map to have a direct layout of the app's fundamental pathways.

03. Low Fidelity Wireframe

Based on the key insights and user flow map, I created a low fidelity wireframe of the app screens to approximately determine the design and functionality for an optimal user experience.

04. Style Guide

To create the final app design I utilized a style guide to maintain a consistent design system.

05. Final App Design
The final minimalist design provides college students a way to clearly navigate the mobile app to purchase stationery. The sans-serif typeface is highly readable and the mauve color scheme feels thoughtful and effortless. The text and background colors are muted so the more vibrant CTA buttons are emphasized.
